East by West is collecting on behalf of Catalytic Foundation’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal in 2023
East by West is proud to be teaming up with Catalytic Foundation for the third year in a row on their annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
This year's Christmas Shoebox Appeal is more than just about giving presents to kids, but the ripple effects, like allowing struggling families to spend more on food and necessities, enable broken families to reconnect, or a way to show we care about the marginalized and vulnerable people in our communities.
We will be collecting single items as well and complete boxes of gifts, on behalf of the appeal, which will then be distributed by local community charities to families they know are in need.
You can help by:
- Donating single items to one of the boxes on the ferry or in the office.
- Items to donate include something: to wear, to play with, for school, to love and personal items like toothbrushes and body soap. See below link of everything they are accepting. No second hand items will be accepted sorry.
- Collect a box from our office on Queens Wharf and fill this yourself with special gifts. Please make sure the box is only filled with suitable items and you use a label to seal (see below links).
- Making a monetary donation to the Catalytic Foundation so they can fill a box on your behalf.
Our Christmas elves will be packing items and distributing boxes in early December to send off to those in need.
