December 2024 updates

Christmas / New Years

We will be running the following over the Christmas / New Years period
23rd - 24th December: Normal weekday timetable
25th December: No services running
26th December - 5th January 2025: Weekend timetable running
6th January: Weekday timetable resumes
 
Gift vouchers
Purchase a gift voucher and have it sent to your email instantly.
Or pop into the office and pick up a physical voucher for either service. 

Avoid the traffic and use East by West Ferry to transport you to and from work or school.

Tickets

  • 10-trips are available for regular ferry users.
  • These do not have an expiry date and can be used for up to two people at a time. 
  • All tickets can be purchased on board the ferry with Cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card.

Seatoun

We are currently looking into the feasibility of resuming services from Queens Wharf - Seatoun and will update when we have made a decision.

Cancellations

Due to weather or other unexpected issues, we do cancel one or both ferries from time to time. 

On occasion we need to go to a restricted timetable, if the conditions are too rough for our smaller vessel.

In the case of a full cancellation, replacement shuttles are no longer provided.

Notifications:

Metlink offer a free notification service for commuters through Metlink. This service sends out alerts if there are any cancellations to our services. If you travel to or from Days Bay you can sign up to this through Metlink. If you have a child at Wellesley College, you can email info@eastbywest.co.nz to subscribe to a dedicated database.
