If you’re tired of the usual restaurant routine, book a private charter and experience the magic of Wellington Harbour. Our friendly team will offer you a new perspective of the city, all while you relax and socialise with friends or colleagues. With a range of catering options to suit your occasion – be it a birthday, social mixer, staff function or corporate event – and an experienced crew who know exactly where to take you based on weather, we guarantee your event will be a hit! Please note, we do not host stag or hens parties onboard.

Boat Hire
East by West Ferries offer one and two hour charter options. Catering must be provided for two hour options and you can select one of our delicious catering options, or provide your own.
Self Catered option
Feel free to organise your own catering and bring it with you or have it delivered straight to our boat. Please note amount of catering needs to be sufficient enough to meet our liquor licence conditions and a list of catering organised will be required during the booking process.
Cost (all prices include GST):
1 hour – $900
2 hours – $1,299

Onboard bathrooms, Onboard bar with EFTPOS sales (no cash sorry).
Music:
Our ferries have sound systems with Bluetooth connectivity so have your playlist ready to go.
Christmas menu
Christmas menus are available from 1 November – 19 December 2025.
Minimum 30 people applies for this menu option.
All menu prices include GST and are additional to the Boat Hire cost.
Canapé Menu
If you’re not quite after a full meal but want to provide your guests with some delectable nibbles, this option is for you.
Choose up to 7 options from a range of tasty savoury and sweet canapés.
Catering cost:
$37pp for 7 canapés each.
Numbers:
Minimum numbers vary depending on day.
Maximum 55 people
All menu prices include GST and are additional to the Boat Hire cost.
Build your own Burgers or tacos
A fun hands-on social meal where guests can build their own dishes. Our friends at Food Envy provide the provisions, delivered hot and ready to enjoy on our ferries.
After a little more food?
Add on one of their salads or desserts (ask us for more information) or bring along your own extra food.
All menu prices include GST and are additional to the Boat Hire cost.
Our ferries all have onboard bars with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (no BYO option).
Groups can organise a bar tab, drink tokens or just pay as they go for drinks.
Please note our charter pricing is not inclusive of beverages.
The Fine Print – Conditions of cruises
A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to confirm a cruise. Final numbers are required seven days prior to charter, with payment for the balance of the charter required five days prior to charter (the deposit invoice will include a refundable cleaning/inconvenience fee of $250 – this is normally refunded after the charter, and is only charged where an inconsiderate or unusually large mess is left).
Respect for our staff and rules is required and terms and conditions will need to be signed prior to any cruise. Unacceptable behaviour will result in individuals being dropped back at Queens Wharf before the charter resumes – repeated instances will see the charter cancelled immediately with all guests returned to Queens Wharf (no refund payable).
