Commuter Newsletter May 2016
Is it the end of the ‘Golden Weather’? It seems of late the Wellington winter might be upon us but rest assured we’re talking to the powers that be and have put in a strong case for continued sunny and calm skies!
Thanks to all those that responded to our recent commuter survey. We are extremely pleased with the results and are now in the process of taking your feedback on board and seeing how we can improve our services. You can check out our results under the Commuter Newsletter section of our website. Congratulations to Leisa Adsett who won the draw for the free 10-trip ticket for completing the survey.
It’s also great to see a good number of commuters taking advantage of the special sailings after the Hurricanes matches to travel home with us after watching the game or enjoying an evening in Wellington! Later ferry services were requested by a number of you in our recent survey and the more people that use these services, the more of these sailings can be put on for rugby matches or other reasons.
In that light we are putting on a late night sailing for the Hurricanes vs. Highlanders game on Friday 27th May. The game kicks off at 7.35pm so the sailing will depart Queens Wharf direct for Days Bay at 10pm. Grab your tickets now, or make plans for an evening out after work and travel home with us. We will also be scheduling a sailing after the All Blacks game on 18th June so we will keep you posted about this.
In boat news, you may be interested to know we are currently in talks with ‘Stuff’ about getting our very white City Cat emblazoned with some colour! It will be exciting to see what eventuates and how it turns out!
Also, just a quick heads up, we will be taking the Cobar Cat out of the water in July for a week to get some maintenance and antifoul work done. This will mean we will be running to a restricted timetable for this period. This is scheduled to happen during the school holidays to avoid as much disruption as possible. We will let everyone know more specific information when we have finalised dates.
In the meantime, don’t forget if you have just joined our commuting club or are thinking of it, do sign up for our free mobile text service re cancellations due to weather or otherwise. Commuters find this invaluable to receive up to the minute notification direct to your phone of any disruptions to the service. Just inform the crew of your mobile number or email the office on firstname.lastname@example.org. Also if you want to receive our newsletters and updates by email, again just email us your address.
